An episode of extreme violence shook the centre of Nice last Saturday, October 17. It happened at around 5:30 pm on avenue Jean Médecin, one of the busiest areas of the French city.
The victim of the attack was the manager of the well-known Micromania store. The man was violently attacked from behind while trying to stop an attempt to loot his shop.
Police issue an urgent appeal
The authorities have opened an investigation to track down the attacker. The National Police of the Alpes-Maritimes has issued an urgent appeal to the public, asking for the greatest possible cooperation in identifying the individual responsible.
Images of the attacker have been released through official channels to help identify him: the police are asking people to share the appeal as widely as possible.
Anyone who witnessed the scene or has information that could be useful to the investigation is asked to contact the police. The number provided by the National Police of the Alpes-Maritimes is 04 92 17 20 63.
