SNCF has released official forecasts ahead of the national mobilization day scheduled for tomorrow. While traffic for TGV, Intercités and Ouigo high-speed trains will only experience slight disruptions with at least nine out of ten trains running regularly, the situation looks much more critical for regional lines.

Local transport services will suffer heavy delays across much of the country. In particular, the situation will be extremely difficult in Brittany and in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Hauts-de-France regions, where disruptions will be classified as severe. Other areas such as Burgundy, Normandy, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Loire Valley will also see disrupted circulation.

Chaos arriving on regional and Parisian routes

Southern France will not be exempt from complications either. The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region will experience severe disruptions on routes connecting Les Arcs to Draguignan, Grasse to Ventimiglia and the line between Nice and Breil-Tende.

Regarding the Île-de-France area, the situation will remain normal for the metro, trams and buses. However, regarding the RER network, major disruptions are expected. On line B, only one in two trains will run in the northern section and two in three in the southern section. Line C will see only one in two trains running, while on line D, frequency will drop to one in three.

SNCF and unions: new concessions for employees

Despite the predicted transport difficulties, SNCF has announced several concessions to its employees. Among the introduced measures are a bonus worth four hundred euros and an increase in allowances for night, holiday and Sunday work. A five percent increase is also planned for mileage allowances for those using private vehicles for service reasons.

However, the four representative unions do not consider themselves satisfied. The struggle continues to obtain a wage adjustment that takes inflation into account for all staff throughout 2026. Railway unions are harshly contesting the budget prepared by the government, accusing it of wanting to worsen social conditions and cut funds destined for the ecological transition.
