The best of Radio Nizza on Medium Wave via Centrale Milano 1575 KHz

Radio Nizza from Milano on Medium Waves 1575 KHz

Selected productions from Radio Nizza dedicated to news, culture, and the event calendar of the French Riviera are now available on Centrale Milano via streaming and medium wave, thanks to an agreement between the broadcasters: let’s see what it’s all about.

Occitania
Once upon a time, there was Occitania, a vast region stretching from Turin to Catalonia, passing through the Principality of Monaco… and Nice. The language was (somewhat) common, but certainly – as we know from direct experience – the peoples were far more mélangé, mixed, than the labels “French” and “Italian” would suggest today.

For this reason, when we interviewed the publisher of Centrale Milano, we immediately thought of combining some original productions, offering them in a staggered schedule on their respective streaming platforms and on Centrale Milano’s medium wave (1575 KHz). Here is the related press release.

Centrale Milano and Radio Nizza talk about culture
In November, an agreement was finalized between Radio Nizza, a media outlet that publishes the only Italian-language news website dedicated to the French Riviera, a streaming broadcaster, and five podcast channels, and Centrale Milano, a station that broadcasts the best music of all time, prioritizing country, pop, and rock genres, while giving ample space to independent music, radio dramas, and other “non-mainstream” content.

Here is the list of selected programs, with their respective broadcast schedules.

The French Touch
Produced and hosted by Arturo Bolognini for over a year, the program explores musical “crossovers” between Italy and France. Each episode focuses on an artist, a song, or a musical genre that has had a significant impact in both nations. The episode airing in the second week of November, for example, tells the story of how Michel Fugain’s Une belle histoire became Un’estate fa in Italian, written by Franco Califano but performed over the years by various artists, becoming a timeless classic.

Broadcast on Radio Nizza during the week at 10:30 AM, 6:30 PM, and 9:30 PM

Broadcast on Centrale Milano’s 1575 KHz on Monday at 12:30 AM (Europe) and Tuesday at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM (Northern Italy)

French Riviera Agenda
Produced and hosted by Antonella Fava, this weekly program highlights and describes a selection of cultural initiatives, events, festivals, and exhibitions taking place between Menton and Saint-Tropez.

Broadcast on Radio Nizza at the 25th minute of every hour between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM

Broadcast on Centrale Milano’s 1575 KHz on Monday at 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Northern Italy) and Wednesday at 12:30 AM (Europe)

A shortened version of the agenda, curated by Marco Casa, is also broadcast on Radio Delta International’s 100.5 MHz and DAB channels (Lombardy and Piedmont) on Thursday at 7:45 AM and 12:15 PM.

Koly Between the Lines
Created, produced, and hosted by Koly Setten, Koly Between the Lines explores French literature that has made history. Each month, the program focuses on a specific author, with every episode discussing a different work, which is commented on and read live. The episode airing in the second week of November is dedicated to Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables.

Broadcast on Radio Nizza during the weekend at 10:30 AM, 6:30 PM, and 9:30 PM

Audio Visione
Audiovisione is a weekly podcast and program dedicated to High Tech. But we do not repeat, we do not cut and paste the usual bunch of news from Silicon Valley: plenty of emissions do that already. Rather, we hold a personal and seldom “controcorrente” view by host Marco Hugo Pietro Barsotti.
