France uncovers the subversive threat of the Muslim Brotherhood

Article originally published in Italian on Atlantico Quotidiano.

A confidential report from the Ministry of the Interior raises the alarm: the organization aims to transform entire societies and territories according to the precepts of sharia

A society undermined from within. An attempt to create enclaves where Islamic law prevails. These are the introductory words to an article published yesterday in Le Figaro: the threatened society is French, and the attempt – apparently well underway – is the work of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The report

The starting point comes from televised statements by French Minister Bruno Retailleau (recently elected as secretary of the Les Républicains party) following a confidential dossier he received in April. The Muslim Brotherhood, the report states and the minister claims, is today more dangerous than traditional terrorists as they are “not recognizable by their beards” and operate covertly within society.

The confidential dossier, which has only now surfaced in the French press, paints a disturbing picture of the Muslim Brotherhood’s presence in France, warning the Ministry of the Interior about the risks tied to their infiltration strategy.

The report outlines a detailed map of the advance of this rigorist organization in the country, engaged – it states – in an attempt to impose sharia, Islamic law, in France.

The document states that the Muslim Brotherhood operates as “an organization with a modus operandi aimed at transforming entire societies and territories according to the precepts of sharia,” namely the rigid application of Islamic norms that regulate every aspect of individual and collective life.

Risk of Salafist separatism

The text emphasizes how this “threat spreads insidiously and progressively,” putting national cohesion at risk. It warns, in fact, of the danger of Salafist separatism, which could lead to the creation of “small Islamist enclaves” within the country.

According to l’Opinion, the Minister of the Interior intends to bring the issue to the center of public debate, relying on the so-called Gouyette-Courtade report – named after an ambassador and a prefect – currently in the process of declassification, to raise public awareness about this risk. Among the main sources of concern are “sports and religious associations used to control mosques.”

It is estimated that around 130-140 places of worship are linked to this brotherhood. The report also highlights the activities of certain educational institutions, such as the Averroès high schools in Lille, Al Kindi near Lyon, the Château-Chinon training institute, and the former CCIF (Committee Against Islamophobia in France, now dissolved), which are said to be involved in this dynamic.

The entourage of Minister Retailleau believes that “the Muslim Brotherhood is the true matrix of political Islam.” There is fear of a “threat of subversion” by Islamists who act discreetly: “they do not wear long beards,” yet still manage to “gain ground among ordinary Muslims.” For this reason, the minister urges the State to strengthen itself against this advance, hoping that “the republican model develops its own antibodies.”

“Since I became Minister of the Interior, we have thwarted six Islamist attack plans,” Retailleau declared. But often this news ends up at the bottom of news reports, if it is even reported: it’s just that routine.

Sharia

Sharia, an Arabic term meaning “the path to follow divine law” or also “the path leading to the source,” is obviously incompatible with the classic principles of human rights (freedom of expression, religious freedom, sexual freedom, and women’s rights), and this should be even more true in the land of enlightenment.
